The Alliance for proportional representation: pro PR groups and public figures

Who wants proportional representation? Well, millions of people want their votes to matter - they believe that the share of seats a party gets should closely reflect the share of votes they get. Many organisations and public figures agree and support the movement for equal votes, including those below.

Our 2016 Alliance Building Conference in Westminster kick-started a cross-party movement for real democracy. The Make Votes Matter PR Alliance now meets quarterly to coordinate action to bring in Proportional Representation for the House of Commons. In July 2019 we took things up a level and launched the Good Systems Agreement - an unprecedented cross-party agreement about what good voting systems look like, and stating that the people should choose the best system for the UK through a fully informed, deliberative process, like a citizens’ assembly. If you would like to join them, sign the Good Systems Agreement too. Know an organisation or celeb who might like to sign? Invite them and please let us know.

If an organisation has joined the Make Votes Matter PR Alliance then members of that group may not be shown as individual signatories - their membership is covered by the organisational one.

If your organisation would like to join the campaign please email alliance@makevotesmatter.org.uk.

The PR Alliance is a trade mark of Make Votes Matter.
